VFD Conferences
The Vinyl Formulators (VFD) of The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) held its first "Commercial Technical Session", during the group's 15th Annual Conference, July 11-13, 2004, at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando, Florida.
The session was a unique departure from the non-commercial sessions that have marked past VFD conferences, including advanced papers on a variety of innovative processes, emerging business issues and new markets in the flexible vinyl industry. These presentations were given the flexibility of addressing the latest use of materials or provide information on up-and-coming technologies being implemented by flexible vinyl companies without regard for the traditional non-commercial presentation criteria. This special session gave companies that are looking for higher visibility a great opportunity to get the word out about their new products and services.
The presentations at this conference included:
- "Plastisol Stabilizers for Improved Air Quality" (Eric Farone, Baerlocher)
- "The Application of Titanate Coupling Agents in PVC" (Salvatore Monte, Kenrich Petrochemicals)
- "Eastman Non-orthophthalate General Purpose Plasticizers" (Stephen J. Byrd, Eastman)
The session was very successful and well attended. The VFD plans to continue offering the Commercial Technical Session at future conferences. For more information, please send an e-mail to vinylf@socplas.org.
